As part of the agreement signed between the French Rugby Federation and the National Rugby League, the FFR unveiled this Tuesday the names of the nine players made available to their club, before the fourth and final preparation match, this Sunday (5:45 p.m.), against Australia at the Stade de France. These players are not part of the group of 33 announced Monday to participate in the World Cup (September 8-October 28).
Note that the pillar of Lyon, Sébastien Taofifenua, who had been summoned after the injury of Cyril Baille (calf), is retained by the staff. He should therefore participate in the match against the Wallabies. Passed by Bordeaux-Bègles, Perpignan and Toulon, Taofifenua (31 years old, 2 selections) has not played for the France team since the 2017-2018 season and two capes, gleaned from the bench, against South Africa ( defeat 18-17) and Japan (23-23), in the November tests.
