Full of confidence before Roland-Garros. After coming out of qualifying, and having taken out Fucsovics and Son in the two previous rounds, Alexandre Muller, 27 years old and 109th in the world, takes on Andrey Rublev. The recent winner of the Madrid tournament won the first round, but Muller stayed in the match to pocket the next two, and a ticket to the round of 16.

The Frenchman will face either Nicolas Jarry (24th in the world), or Sebastiano Napolitano (125th in the world), who is also having a very good week in Rome. The table therefore remains affordable to reach the quarter-finals. This is already his best career result. Until then, he had never beaten players in the world’s top 20.

“It’s incredible I didn’t expect to win, I knew I had my chances but it’s very special to beat Andrey. I changed my tactics in the 2nd set, I found the right tactics to beat him today,” he rejoiced.
