Merco has released the first ever ranking of Spanish companies with the highest reputation in Spain for 2022. After ten editions, the supermarket chain takes first place, just behind Inditex which drops to second.

After Mercadona’s top spot, Inditex, Grupo Socio Once, Telefonica and Mapfre are among the ’top ten most reputable companies’ in Spain.

The main increase in this 22nd edition is the one by Corporacion Hijos de Rivera, which moved from 49th place to 26th; Mango, which goes from 77o and 54o; Orange, that rose from 84th through 62nd, and Ferrovial which went from 90th to 72nd. Notable are also the additions of the monitors by Barcelo Hotel Group (59th), Abanca (91) Kutxabank (92nd), and Cellnex (94th), which were organizations that did not rank among the top 100 in 2021.

The most prominent aspects of female leadership are Ana Botin (Santander) at 2nd, which is the highest position for a woman in the 22-years of measurement. Marta Ortega (Inditex), at 26th, is also noteworthy. However, the final ranking has a decrease in women (25 in 2022 to 27 in 2020).
