A ‘home’ that takes care of the caregiver
The Association de Banfield has opened up four years ago, a structure fully dedicated to the disease of Alzheimer’s disease , and in particular to the caregiver, Casa Viola. It is a real “home”, the first that has chosen to deal with the support and the health of those who care for an Alzheimer patient. Main goal reduce the stress of the caregiver. The structure combines the activities of permanent formation (a real school, the newborn (D)Caregiver Academy) to learn about the disease and how to cope with a lot of importance on communication with the patient), counselling and group activities related to physical and mental wellbeing (yoga techniques, wellness, workshops on autobiographical writing and art). From 2016, has been in charge of about 600 people along with scientific data important to profile the caregivers of Alzheimer’s disease, understand what are their needs and the answers you would like on the plan of care, services, conciliation work-family.
