the LONDON – The exoplanet Proxima b, that orbit the red dwarf Proxima Centauri, is met almost constantly by the solar flare and cosmic rays that may contribute to making the planet more habitable. These are the results of a study, published on arXiv, and conducted by researchers from the Institute of technology, Berlin, Germany, which had overturned the earlier theories, according to which the conditions to which it is subjected Proxima b do not emphasize the difficulties in the development of life forms. The team led by Markus Scheucher has developed models for analysing the way in which the energetic particles generated by solar flares affect the planet’s temperature.
