the BERLIN – While the coronavirus continues to expand, Germany will not only suspend the controversial decree that had prohibited the export of masks, suits, gowns, etc. abroad. But according to sources close to the dossier, the minister of Health, Jens Spahn, is going to provide a million masks to Italy. From today, the Country of Angela Merkel will resume export in Italy, the face shields, the protective suits, the gowns, gloves, and other garments, of the prevention and protection against the Covid19. It was decided by a decree of the ministry of the Economy dated 12 march, which intervenes on the prohibition of the export of these products, by suspending it in very special cases.
The measure, of which the Republic is in possession, lists the “safety glasses”, “face shields”, “filter masks” and other products on which the government, chancellor Merkel had previously decided, because of the rapid spread of the epidemic in Germany, to impose a stop at the border. The suspension of the export ban wanted by Spahn is expected, henceforth, “to counter a sufficient threat to the satisfaction of the vital needs in a member State of the european Union or of the european free trade Association to protect the health and lives of people. This can be done, in particular, when the export or transfer takes place on the initiative of public authorities or serves to maintain the functionality of the medical hospitals and other health facilities, including the management and maintenance of the production systems of health care”. Finally, continues the decision, “in cases of particular hardship may be allowed, also other exports and transfers to the said States, as well as exports to other third Countries”.
