Veurne Joost Vandendries (47) from Veurne but living in Tombeek, the Belgian record fast skiing broken. On the world cup race in the French Vars he pulled a top speed of 218,845 miles per hour. That is three kilometers per hour faster than the previous Belgian record.
Saturday, he did all a first attempt, and when he got 211 miles per hour. Monday went better. He broke the 22-year-old Belgian record of François Delcorte on the piste de Chabrières. To break the world record speedski to break will Joost even faster. Ivan Origone established three years ago with a speed of just 255 kilometres per hour. Such a speed, you can remove of course, but thanks to a special equipment as you can see the photo. On the world cup race in Vans ended Vandendries twelfth.
