Denmark is the most expensive country to be in within the EU.

It shows a report from the statistikbureauet Eurostat, which has provided an overview of the prices of consumer goods and services in all 27 EU-countries for the 2019.

the Prices of food, alcohol, tobacco, and consumer products is 40 percent more expensive in Denmark than the average for the 27 EU countries.

The cheapest countries to be in Bulgaria and Romania. Here are the 47 and 45 percent cheaper than the average, and thus three times as cheap as Denmark.

The cheapest food and drink are found in Romania, where it is 34 percent cheaper than the average.

Denmark also occupies the first place, as regards clothing and footwear (32 per cent more expensive than the average), personal transport equipment (38 percent), recreation and culture (48 percent) and restaurants and hotels (56 percent), the report shows.

Restaurants and hotels is three times as expensive in Denmark as in Bulgaria.

But Denmark is not in the top in all areas.

Alcohol and tobacco is most expensive in Ireland, where it is 88 percent more expensive than the average, while only 19 percent more expensive than the average in Denmark.

With regard to housing prices, Denmark is number four with 63 percent more expensive homes after Ireland (77 percent), Britain (72 percent) – which at the time was not yet come out of the EU and Luxembourg (70 percent).

Denmark is even below the average for EU countries by 0.1 percent, with regard to furniture. Here, Luxembourg was the most expensive by 24% above average and Bulgaria the lowest with 51 percent below the average.

Only Holland has more costly transport than Denmark, with 46 percent against Denmark’s 40 percent above the average.
