Hamburg transfers the one-time payment for pensioners of 300 euros to the pensioners of the Hanseatic city. The Senate has agreed to finance the money through the current budget, the tax authority said. With 37,269 retirees, this results in a total of around 11.2 million euros. The money is to be paid out in December.

“The development of pension payments should also take into account the development of pensions,” said Finance Senator Andreas Dressel (SPD) according to the announcement on Tuesday evening. And that’s why the Senate decided to transfer the one-off payment for pensioners 1:1 to the pensioners this year. “The federal government will do this for its pensioners, and Hamburg will follow suit at the same time and with the same effect for its pension recipients.”
