In a large interview with the magazine Marketing tells communications director Lene Balleby now, that there were various incidents in connection with prince Henrik’s illness, that was difficult to handle.

That was asked a lot of diagnoses out there. Some – including journalists – sent me links to websites where I could read about the disease. And subsequently wondered why some over, why don’t we just had reported anything out of the prince’s illness before, says Lene Balleby, and continues:
I have to say: We went out within 48 hours after we got the diagnosis. There was a myth that we could just have said something. But there was nothing to say, before we actually did it.
She also says that the handling of the royal family communication in connection with prince Henrik’s illness was a difficult task.
– Up to prince Henrik was declared sick, there were some episodes which were not very easy to handle. It was a decision that he would not be buried by the side of the Queen, and the incident at Cayx.

In the interview promises Lene Balleby also a little of the veil, how the royal family’s communications department is working when it is really busy – for example in connection with a royal death.
She tells, among other things, that she even slept on the couch in the office in The Yellow Poles at the Amalienborg palace, and to her department in the hectic days functioned as a ‘war room’, where a steering committee met in the morning and evening.

in Addition to the prince Henry’s illness is Balleby, in addition to the episode from this summer’s Smukfest in Skanderborg, denmark, where the crown prince in very festive mode suddenly stood on the stage with the band Nephew.
On the episode she says that it would be to undermine the royal family’s credibility, if the crown prince was on the stage every second weekend, but the royal family also like to do surprise.
