Activision Blizzard is set to release Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25th for Xbox One, Series X and S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC. The ‘espionage action game’ will also be available on Xbox Game Pass. It is important to note that the game will require a constant internet connection, even on consoles.

The campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 takes place in the early nineties, shortly after the Cold War. The game is set in various locations including South Europe, the United States, the Russian tundra, and the Middle East. The reveal trailer features familiar CoD characters such as Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and Cold War character Russell Adler. The single-player mode is being developed by Raven Software.

Just like all other modes, the single-player campaign will require a permanent internet connection. According to Activision’s blog post, the internet connection is necessary for texture streaming. This means that some textures will be loaded via the internet rather than from local game files. The Xbox store page for Black Ops 6 states that the game requires 309.85GB of storage space. However, the official website’s product page mentions 149GB of storage space. The final game size remains unclear.

Treyarch is in charge of the multiplayer mode, which will include sixteen new maps and a new mode. The game will also feature a zombie mode, described by the developer as ‘Round-based Zombies’ making a return. Additionally, there will be a Hunter-versus-Hunted PvP mode. Black Ops 6 introduces a new movement system that allows players to dive and slide in all directions. Once on the ground, players can change directions.

The companies have promised a free open beta for all platforms before the release, although the exact date is yet to be announced.
