The former CEO of BBVA and current president of Caixabank, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, testified this Monday before the judge of the National Court Manuel García Castellón that he did not intervene in any way in the hiring of Cenyt, the business group of the now retired commissioner José Manuel Villarejo, pointing to the then president of BBVA, Francisco González, as responsible.

According to the legal sources consulted by Europa Press, Goirigolzarri explained that he found out that BBVA had hired an intelligence agency from a conversation he had around 2004 or 2005 with Ángel Cano, also a former CEO.
