Andrew Cuomo seemed to hint at a political return in comments he made at a Brooklyn church Sunday.
The Democrat made a campaign-like visit to a Brooklyn church Sunday. He delivered a speech condemning “cancel culture”. This was after Cuomo launched a digital advertising campaign and television campaign that promoted a similar message. Cuomo was unfairly removed from office.
Cuomo referred to the Bible many times in his description of his struggles. Then he went on the offensive against the “political sharks” in Albany, who, he claimed, “smelled blood” as they exploited the situation to their political advantage.
Cuomo stated, “The actions against my were prosecutorial misconduct,” repeating a theme that he has promoted since the beginning. They used cancel culture to effectively reverse an election.”
In August , the Democrat resigned after an independent investigation found that he had sexually harassed almost a dozen women. He and his aides also worked together to retaliate against one accuser. Cuomo admitted that his behavior was inappropriate, but quickly stated that he had not violated any law.
He said, “I didn’t realize how quickly the perspectives changed.” “I have learned a powerful lesson, and I paid a high price for it.” God isn’t done with me yet.
Cuomo isn’t announcing he will run for office but still has a multimillion-dollar campaign war chest that he could use to fund another run.
New York’s district attorneys stated that they considered Cuomo’s accusers credible, but didn’t believe the evidence was strong enough to bring criminal charges against him. , a New York State trooper, sued him last month. He claimed that he caused her mental anguish by inappropriately touching her and making suggestive remarks. The suit was called a “cheap money extortion” by a spokesperson for Cuomo.
Cuomo used Sunday’s platform mainly to condemn a climate that he claimed is dangerously fueled by social media.
He said that any accusation could lead to condemnation, even if there are no facts or due process. “We are a nation made up of laws and not tweets. We will be cursed if this becomes our new justice system.
Cuomo mentioned that he will not be able to stay in the spotlight by returning to a Biblical metaphor of crossing an arch to describe his journey.
He said, “The Bible teaches perseverance. It teaches us how to get off the mat.” They broke my heart, but they didn’t break my spirit. I want to use the energy that could make me bitter and make our lives better.
