More than 300 applications presented by a hundred firms have participated in the eighth edition of the Expansión Jurídico Awards for Excellence in the Practice of Business Law, which EXPANSIÓN awards each year at a ceremony held at the Duques de Pastrana Complex in Madrid .

The jury, made up of former Justice Ministers, secretaries of the Ibex 35 council and managing partners of the main billing firms, met two weeks ago to study the projects presented and vote for the winners of each of the 24 categories in which the Legal Expansion Awards are distributed.

Uría Menéndez has revalidated the award for Best Firm. The firm directed by Salvador Sánchez-Terán and chaired by Jesús Remón, however, has been recognized in two other categories: Best legal action in contentious-administrative matters and Best pro bono initiative, in addition to its participation in the merger of MásMóvil and Orange , selected by the jury as Best Transaction and in which Cuatrecasas, Davis Polk, Deloitte Legal, EY Abogados, Freshfields, Garrigues, Gómez-Acebo also participated

However, Garrigues is the law firm with the most awards in this edition, with five awards. In addition to his participation in the Best Operation, he has also managed to be recognized in the category of Best Senior Lawyer thanks to his of counsel Eduardo Torres-Dulce. Likewise, the firm chaired by Fernando Vives has obtained the awards for Best Firm in Tax Advice and in Sustainable Transformation, as well as for Best Diversity and Inclusion Initiative.

Faus Moliner, meanwhile, has won the prizes for Best Firm in Health Sciences and Best Boutique, an award that he shares with Escalona

Iberdrola’s legal department repeats as winner in the Most Innovative Project category, while Hogan Lovells has obtained recognition for Best Insurance Firm, Ecija in Digital Economy, Clifford Chance in Infrastructures and Elzaburu in Intellectual and Industrial Property, an award that also revalidates with respect to the previous edition the firm directed by Mabel Klimt. Sagardoy Abogados also continues for another year as the Best Labor Advice Firm.

Linklaters and Pérez-Llorca, for their part, add to their participation in the merger of MásMóvil and Orange the awards for Best Energy Firm and Best Real Estate Firm, respectively.
