Medical Scientists have managed to mice with symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease successfully treated with a unique combination of sound and light. The treatment has not yet been tested on humans, but it offers hope for the future. The study was published today in the scientific journal Cell.
Li-Huei Tsai, director of Picower Institute for Learning and Memory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, kortweg MIT, argued with her team the mice for an entire week, one hour per day exposed to sound waves – noise – with a frequency of 40 Hertz.
