Herentals Thursday night, three fires raged in the railway station of Herentals. More than likely going to be arson. In the allotments to the Olympiadelaan burned a duivenkot, two caravans and a workshop. The station was also a waste container on fire. The police could Thursday evening a suspect, a 46-year-old man in Meerhout, to the station to pick it up. There is examined whether it also has something to do with the arson last weekend in Meerhout. The fire may also be asbestos free.
The fire in the allotments to the Olympiadelaan in Herentals was something after 23 hours reported. The fire department thought a suspicious fire, since there are two different fires were found. It was going to be two raging fires. The fire department could not, therefore, prevent a duivenkot, two caravans and a materiaalhok – all in the same garden – fully in flames.
Owner Erik Vercammen (63) is the heart. It was around midnight, notified and could on arrival, just to watch how they are caravans, loft and materiaalhok uitbrandden. The fire left eight of his pigeons life. “This is a real disaster, that you will never forget. They have those critters killed, they have my life’s work taken away from them. I’ve been a pigeon fancier since I was seven years old and that they are now an hour away,” says Erik Vercammen, which, inter alia, the Belgian champion has been and ever eighth place achieved at the Olympiad.
