Should we really be surprised that footballer Paul Pogba tested positive for testosterone? No, according to Tibo InShape, the YouTuber with more than 10 million subscribers who made himself known with videos on the theme of bodybuilding. “At a high (professional) level, there are few who are not doped,” writes the 31-year-old Toulouse resident on X, ex-Twitter.
Thibaud Delapart, his real name, affirms that doping problems are “not only in boybuilding or cycling”, and that it is “partly our fault as spectators. Wanting more and more performance and results, athletes are forced to use drugs.”
The videographer’s statements provoked a strong reaction from tennis player Corentin Moutet. “How can you say something like that? replied the Frenchman, 97th player in the world, on X. Anti-doping controls are omnipresent. We are constantly located, we train hard to perform well.” And the native of Neuilly-sur-Seine concludes with a dig: “Quite funny to see a tweet like this from someone more drawn than 99% of top athletes.”
Former footballer Matthieu Dossevi said that doping “remains a rare occurrence, in football at least”. Like Moutet, the former Valenciennois explains that there are checks “every week” and that positive checks are “exceptions”.
