The well-known Swatch watches have a technological touch since yesterday in Spain, despite still being analog. Thanks to a collaboration agreement between Visa, CaixaBank and the watchmaker, Swatch will allow the watch to be used as a contactless payment method in stores.
Swatch Pay! technology from the Swiss company that allows payments, was already available in fifteen countries around the world, but now lands in Spain thanks to the agreement with Visa and CaixaBank. “Swatch Pay! is a new solution for making contactless payments. This new means of payment allows you to download Visa cards, issued by CaixaBank, in a Swatch analog watch, thus allowing you to pay without contact or friction. It will work with several models that have their equivalent without the payment function: Gent, New Gent, Big Bold, and according to the Swiss brand, new watches with this tool will soon be released. “Its price is five euros more than its equivalent in the Swatch collection,” they specify.
For its part, CaixaBank claims to embark on this segment to maintain its drive for digital payment on all types of mobile and wearable devices. The entity has brought its mobile payment service to a wide variety of systems, including Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Garmin Pay and FitBit Pay. Likewise, the entity was the first to launch contactless bracelets in Spain with which payments can be made without the need to carry a card or a mobile phone.

Contactless payment on Swatch watches will work on any operating system, simply by using the company’s application, and will allow you to pay at any point of sale where you can pay with the CaixaBank Visa card.
