Football is known to be everyone’s sport. All you need is a ball and two cages to organize a match, at any level. In the amateur world, the Sunday morning match always has its share of twists and turns. Poorly positioned cages, a pitch that is a real minefield or even half the team regretting their evening the day before. But in England, the players of Phoenix FC, bottom of the 8th division, certainly did not expect to see such a recruit.

At the end of a competition organized by Paddy Power, a sports betting site, the club won the right to a luxury substitute for one of their league matches. It was therefore in a white limousine that Ronaldo, the Brazilian, arrived to come into play as a “supersub”.

In a nonchalant role, the scorer did not do much more than that to return to the score and was finally replaced shortly after coming into play before leaving in his limousine. Trailing 4-0, the Phoenix finally lost 7-0 after the Brazilian’s brief spell on the pitch.
